AMC (The Association For the Mentally Challenged) founded in 1960 by Dr. D. L.N. Murthy Rao, is the oldest institution of its kind in Karnataka and the second at the national level addressing the problems faced by the individuals with intellectual disability and their families. Today AMC is an NGO supporting over 200 children, adolescents and adults. AMC's aim is to educate, train and rehabilitate these mentally challenged individuals and their families.
